now that i think of torcan (cleft),

Dwelly has:

torcan sm dim of torc [boar & cleft - 99]. Little cleft. 2 Species of bifurcated carrot (cardionis benedictus).

and that's what I think they're referring to, but thus Carm.:

When the soil is soft and friable, the carrots can be pulled out of the ground without digging. When, however, the soil is hard, a space is dug to give the hand access to the root. This space is made in the form of an equal-sided triangle, technically called 'torcan,' diminutive of 'tore,' a cleft.

- so maybe it's "fruitful, fruitful, fruitful carrot"

it's not the first time i see sc. g. folklore being crazy polysemous & context-dependent, to the point that meaningful verse turns into nonsense verse which also had a role (as "mouth music," something to dance to when musical instruments were prohibited by the English or the Calvinists)
