Actor David Suchet, best known for playing Agatha Christie's fictional Belgian detective in the long-running TV series "Poirot," was made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the first new year's honours list submitted to the Queen by Prime Minister David Cameron.
Кстати, награжденные вместе с ним Sheila Hancock и Harriet Walter - тоже приятные во всех отношениях дамы.
А кого-то из моих френдов наверняка порадует присутствие Анни Ленокс в том же списке.
По этому поводу хочется пожелать, чтобы известия о чужих наградах всегда нас радовали и отвечали нашему внутреннему чувству справедливости.
