Эту черную барышню я привезла из второй поездки в Будапешт. Она сделана из чугуна и у неё полая юбка. Была ли она когда-то колокольчиком? Бог весть. Сколько я ни искала информацию о чугунной мелкой пластике, ничего найти не удалось. Продавец ничего о ней не знал.
Она напоминает мне девочек Отто Филиппа Рунге (кстати, один портрет, девочки на стуле, мне почему-то так и не попался в сети, может, кто-то из вас знает, где его можно найти?)
Оловянный ангелок, бряцающий на лире, нашёлся на какой-то районной парижской распродаже (это был даже не стационарный блошинный рынок, а что-то вроде школьно-коммунальной акции). Лира не могла меня оставить равнодушной, сами понимаете.

Techniques of artistic iron casting - similarly to industrial iron casting - arrived into the country at the time of the industrial revolution. The shortage of non-ferrous metals during the Napoleonic wars in the early 19th century compelled the Prussian monarchs to develop iron casting to such a level that the fine cast iron ornaments, reliefs, statuettes, and jewels could compete with those made of bronze or even of silver.
The mold masterpieces made at the Gleiwitz foundry (founded in 1796) and at the Prussian Royal Foundry (established in 1804) in Berlin had a great influence on the entire European iron casting craftsmanship. The molds spread to German foundries, Moravian foundries founded by the Vrbna counts, Austrian foundries erected close to the shrine in Mariazell, the Glatz foundry in Vienna as well as to the Krainian works in Hof, and they even entered the Russian Tsar's iron casting foundries.
In Hungary, the earliest memories of the iron casting handicraft originate from the Rhonic (Kisgaram) treasury works, but there are several artistic castings from Banat (Bogsa, Anina, Rasica) and Kárpátalja, which sign the mold makers' and casters' brilliant skills. However, the only real, European class fine foundries were the ones in Szelestó and Frigyesfalva around Munkács, in the possession of the Schönborn counts at the time. These foundries started operation in 1835. It is worth mentioning that in the early period, the foundry used molds by an artist called Willaschek, who brought along Prussian designs. It was no earlier than in 1848 that the production of statuettes, clock stands, filigree plates and other articles for personal use began according to the original designs of a high class sculptor, András Schossel.

Date: 2008-11-09 12:10 pm (UTC)... Летом в Кишиневе я оказалась на выставке колокольчиков, самыми интересными из которых были колокольчики в виде бронзовых барышень с пышными юбками. Смотрительница сказала, что колокольчики такой формы когда-то были стандартом школьных звонков в Англии.
Что-нибудь такое?
